Former Czech President Milos Zeman celebrated his 80th birthday party on Saturday. The guests from abroad included the presidents of Poland, Slovakia and Serbia – Andrzej DudaPeter Pellegrini and Aleksandar Vucic, Prime Ministers Hungarian and Slovakia Viktor Orbán and Robert Fico, as well as former president Czech Vaclav Klaus. “He feels best among his own people. Zeman's birthday, packed with people who are tilted towards Putin and advocate his interests, gathered those who think alike, represent similar values, and dream of a similar model of the state,” commented Krzysztof Brejza, MEP of the Civic Coalition.
Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski said on Monday that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised President Duda against attending Zeman's birthday.
Mastalerek: the president has no regrets
The head of the president's office, Marcin Mastalerek, spoke more about this in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24. Asked whether the president did not regret taking part in these birthdays, even though the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised him against it, he replied: – of course not.
– We heard about the supposed consultations that were supposed to take place. There have never been such consultations. An e-mail came from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Radosław Sikorski, accosted the president and tried to discourage him, he said.

Mastalerek: the president is consistent
Mastalerek also referred to the meeting between President Andrzej Duda and former national prosecutor Dariusz Barski. He believes that he still holds this position.
