I don’t know any politician or politicians who, if they had to rule for a month longer, would give it up – said Krzysztof Łapiński, former spokesman for President Andrzej Duda, in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24, referring to the government of Mateusz Morawiecki appointed for two weeks. – PiS simply needed these two weeks to solidify its position, both structural and financial – added attorney Ryszard Kalisz, formerly head of President Aleksander Kwaśniewski’s office.

President Andrzej Duda appointed a new government on November 27. The new parliamentary majority criticizes this move and calls Morawiecki’s attempt to stay in power “theater” and “cabaret”. Law and Justice there is no majority in the Sejm, and none of the parties wants to enter into a coalition with PiS.

On December 11, according to the government spokesman, Morawiecki will deliver an expose in the Sejm and seek a vote of confidence. The Sejm will probably appoint a government on the same day Donald Tusk.

Łapiński: PiS wants to build a certain myth

This matter was discussed in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24 by Krzysztof Łapiński, former presidential spokesman Andrzej Duda and attorney Ryszard Kaliszin the past, among others, the head of the president’s office Aleksander Kwaśniewski.

When asked why the president decided to entrust the mission to the PiS camp, Łapiński replied that “this was certainly the expectation of the camp from which the president also comes.” – I don’t know any politician or politicians who would give up if they had to rule for a month longer. This is politics, he added.

He said that Andrzej Duda “had a simple and clear argument for this, that he hands over the mission of forming a government in the first step to the party that won the most votes.” And now this party will either prove that it will gain coalition partners or not, he continued.

– It is also the case that in the short history of the operation of this Constitution, i.e. since 1997, for the first time a situation occurs that the party that wins the most votes does not win enough to govern independently or does not have the ability to form a coalition, (… ). And it was customary to entrust (the mission of forming a government – editor) to the party that has the most seats in the Sejm. And I think the president wanted to respect that here, Łapiński continued.

At the same time, he said that PiS “wants to build a certain myth” based on the situation related to the probable failure of Morawiecki’s government to obtain a vote of confidence.

Kalisz: PiS needed these two weeks to solidify its position

Ryszard Kalisz said that “PiS is a very efficient party sociotechnically, but it did not predict its defeat.” – They were so self-righteous that this defeat – the democratic coalition significantly overtaking the United Right in terms of seats – was a surprise to them. We saw it on the day elections – added.

– They haven’t finished various matters, including – let’s call it – such escapist matters. It is clearly visible that today and throughout this week, various types of final matters are taking place, some takeovers of enterprises, some takeovers and changes in statutes, somewhere in local governments some new seats are being decided for the various structures that PiS has established – he enumerated.

– PiS simply needed these two weeks to consolidate its position, both structural and financial. And that is why Morawiecki, unfortunately, made himself look like a rather disgraced person – said the former head of the president’s office, Aleksander Kwaśniewski.

Łapiński: if the president’s advisor says so publicly, it means he didn’t come up with it himself

Krzysztof Łapiński was also asked whether, in his opinion, the president, when appointing a new government, will take into account the recommendations of the “lex Tusk” commission that Donald Tusk, Jacek Cichocki, Bogdan Klich, Tomasz Siemoniak, Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz should not be entrusted with public positions, responsible for state security in connection with the recognition of the Russian FSB as a partner service in 2010-14. Last week, all members of the committee were dismissed by the Sejm.

Łapiński recalled Sunday’s statement by presidential advisor Łukasz Rzepecki, who said that the decision of the commission to investigate Russian influence is not equivalent to the president’s position on this matter.

The opinion of the “lex Tusk” commission and the decision to take the oath. The president’s adviser on what Andrzej Duda will do.

– If an advisor says so publicly, it means that he did not come up with it himself, but – knowing the pragmatics of the law firm’s operation – this is the position of the law firm. Because otherwise he would avoid answering or say he doesn’t know. And since there was a direct answer, he didn’t do it himself without the president’s consent and knowledge, commented Łapiński.
