The magazine notes that the register of deceased persons states that the cause of the actor’s death has been “deferred”, which means that the case is still under investigation. This status is given to cases in which the cause of death cannot be determined during an autopsy and is displayed until additional tests are completed. Currently, the services are waiting for the results of the toxicology report, which may take up to several weeks. The results will help determine whether any substances contributed to the 54-year-old’s death.

The investigation into the actor’s death is being conducted by the Los Angeles Robbery and Homicide Unit. At the moment, the services do not suspect that third parties contributed to his death. No drugs were found at the scene. According to the Los Angeles Times, prescription drugs were found and toxicology tests were ordered.
On Sunday, his family released a statement regarding Perry’s death. The actor’s relatives wrote that “they are devastated by the tragic loss of their beloved son and brother.” “Friends” co-creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane and executive producer Kevin Bright also issued a statement. “We are shocked and deeply, deeply saddened by the death of our beloved friend Matthew,” they wrote.
