This year’s picnic in Podhale will be marked by high prices. According to “Gazeta Wyborcza”, the parking fee in the Tatra Mountains is even PLN 75, the entrance ticket to the path in the treetops – PLN 65, and the beer – PLN 22. The increases did not spare the Tatra National Park or Polish Line Railways.

As we read in the article of “Gazeta Wyborcza”, according to Booking.com, 84 percent of apartments are currently occupied in Zakopane. all accommodation. According to experts, there are three reasons for the lower occupancy. Firstly, it’s the changeable weather, which did not encourage trips, and secondly inflation, and finally the ongoing economic crisis. “GW” indicates that some entrepreneurs introduced reductions in their price lists and, for example, accommodation was available for less than PLN 300. However, many of us resigned from going to the mountains, fearing high prices and it turns out that these fears are not unfounded.

The price of parking varies from day to day

“Gazeta Wyborcza” notices fluctuations in parking prices at the entrance to the trail to Morskie Oko. On Saturday, it was PLN 36 for a passenger car, and a day later it was PLN 75. On May 1st Monday, it slightly fell to PLN 65. The daily points out that the parking fee is not everything. Entrance tickets to the national park have become more expensive. Just a few years ago it cost PLN 4, and today you have to pay PLN 9. The reduced price is PLN 4.5.

It is also more expensive on the trail. According to “GW”, tea at the Górski Hotel in Kalatówki costs PLN 10. Beer is also expensive. You have to pay PLN 22 for 0.5 liter of the drink in Gubałówka, brewed on site. It is a bit cheaper at a private brewery in Szaflary, which prices a 0.5 l pint at PLN 15 (it also brews on site).

Gorce Gate. Road path between trees

“Gazeta Wyborcza” notes that we will have to pay dearly not only in the Tatra Mountains and Zakopane. The road is also a new tourist attraction – Brama Gorce, a natural and educational park and a path in the treetops. A normal ticket costs PLN 60, a reduced ticket (children aged 3 to 14 and seniors over 65) costs PLN 50. Theoretically, a family can buy a family ticket, it’s a bit cheaper, but it’s still expensive. Option 2+1 costs PLN 140, and 2+2 – PLN 180.

The daily reports that although it is a private undertaking, it received support from the authorities in obtaining EU funds (PLN 5.5 million) and national funds (PLN 4.7 million from the Polish Order for road construction).

“Work on the access road is still in progress, while the deputy mayor of the commune – who previously managed to obtain public money for the road – in the meantime left the office and … went to the company Brama in Gorce, where he became the president,” reports “GW”.
