For almost two years, policemen from Mazovia worked on an organized criminal group dealing in drugs, weapons and ammunition. Four people were arrested a few days ago. Nearly 200 officers were involved in the operation.

“The detainees are three men and a woman, aged 40-45. According to the court’s decision, three of these people were temporarily arrested,” the press department of the National Prosecutor’s Office informed.

Earlier in the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Lublin, they were charged with i.a. participation in an organized crime group, marketing a significant amount of narcotics, possession of illegal firearms, ammunition and explosives. In connection with the alleged crimes, the suspects face sentences of up to 12 years in prison.

Nearly 200 policemen were involved

Spokesperson of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Siedlce, subcomm. Ewelina Radomyska informed that local police officers had been working on a criminal group for almost two years. The culmination of their activities was a wide-ranging action, carried out on February 7 in Siedlce and neighboring districts, and in Warsaw.

Nearly 200 officers took part in the activities: police officers from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Siedlce, supported by officers from the Voivodeship Police Headquarters in Radom, including the Independent Counter-Terrorist Subunits of the Police, as well as officers of the National Police Headquarters in Warsaw and the Anti-Terrorist Operations Bureau of the National Police Headquarters in Warsaw.

Investigative findings show that members of an organized crime group operating throughout the country, in addition to marketing wholesale quantities of drugs, were also involved in trafficking in illegal firearms and ammunition, as well as the production of amphetamine, mephedrone, intra-Community smuggling of marijuana and the production of explosives.

Drugs, weapons and ammunition were seized

In addition to detaining the suspects, police officers in the course of searches seized a total of over 15 kilograms of various types of drugs, over 158 rounds of ammunition, gunpowder, fuses for producing explosives, precursors and equipment for the production of amphetamine.

So far, a total of 20 pieces of illegal firearms in the form of shotguns, rifles, pistols, revolvers, rifles and submachine guns, three explosive devices, 1200 pieces of ammunition of various calibers and several dozen kilograms of drugs have been seized.

The police also discovered a production line for making tobacco slices. – It was located in unused rooms in the Ostrów district – said the spokeswoman for the Siedlce police.

According to the findings of the investigation, the group operated throughout the country. According to the prosecutor, the case is developing.
