Robert Lewandowski has opened the new season of the Spanish league brilliantly. In the opening match at the Estadio Mestalla against Valencia, he scored two goals, which gave his team a 2:1 victory. The match between FC Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao ended with the same result, in which the Polish striker also scored in the 75th minute, giving three points.
Lewandowski waited five years for this! “New life”
After the match, Hansi Flick complimented the 36-year-old. “I know him very well, I worked with him for a long time before. He is one hundred percent physically fit and works with great intensity. If you are in good shape and have a positive attitude, you make a difference. He knows how to shoot and put pressure. I know the best version of Lewandowski and that is what I see,” the former Bayern Munich coach assessed.
The Spaniards were counting on the arrival of Hansi Flick to rebuild Robert Lewandowski, who had been breaking scoring records under the German coach. The beginning of this renewed cooperation is very promising, because three goals in two matches means the best start to the season for the Pole in recent years. Specifically since the 2019/2020 season, when Lewandowski had five goals for Bayern Munich in the same period. Later on, things didn't go so well for him – he scored a maximum of two goals, and he started the previous season in Barca colors without a single goal.

It seems that apart from his goals, Lewandowski has regained his best form under the watchful eye of coach Hansi Flick, with whom he worked in Bavaria,” write the media in Catalonia. In turn, the local “Sport” even described the Pole's form as “his second youth.”
