Nicola Zalewski After the September training camp of the Polish national team, he deserves special praise. Against Scotland, he won two penalties and scored a goal in one of them, and against Croatia, his play was one of the few positive aspects in the team MichaĆ Probierz. After the national team, the 22-year-old returns to Rome, where his situation is not the best.
Nicola Zalewski has made a decision to continue playing for AS Roma. “At a crossroads”
Since the beginning of the current season, Zalewski Roma he played just three times and spent 142 minutes on the pitch. The Pole is not coach Daniele De Rossi's first choice and the media predicted he would leave the club. His services were said to be seriously sought by, among others, Turkish Galatasaray, which was announced during the Croatia-Poland match.
And how does Zalewski himself view the matter? “La Gazzetta dello Sport” writes that the Polish representative is currently “at a crossroads”, because his contract runs until June 2025 and makes him the second lowest-paid player in the first team. The 22-year-old allegedly rakes in 350 thousand euros per year and Galatasaray is tempting him with much more money.
Transfer to Turkey, even his colleague Nicolo Zaniolo, who himself left Rome for Galatasaray for half a year in 2023, was supposed to have recommended Zalewski. Roma would also be willing to listen to an offer of 10-11 million euros for the player, because after a year he will be able to leave for free.
According to “LGdS”, Zalewski does not want to hear about a possible transfer. The Pole believes that staying in the club is the best option for him. At the same time, he has plans to compete for a place in the squad and is not afraid of a possible defeat. At all costs, he wants to prove his usefulness to the coach, who allegedly sees in him a useful alternative on the left wing.
The 22-year-old has played 109 games for AS Roma so far, but his numbers aren't impressive. He has just two goals and seven assists. Perhaps he'll translate his form from the national team into club appearances and significantly improve on that tally.
