Since Tymoteusz Puchacz left Lech Poznań for Union Berlin in the summer of 2021, it is difficult to talk about greater stability in the career of the Polish representative. He was unable to break through in the German capital, and Union loaned him to Trabzonspor, Panathinaikos Athens and Kaiserslautern. Although he did not conquer either Turkey or Greece, in the Bundesliga he had by far the best season since leaving Poland, and perhaps even in his career in general.
Bundesliga not for Puchacz. This season is proof
Puchacz scored one goal and made 10 assists in the league for the German Red Devils. He contributed significantly to maintaining the team in the second level of the competition. It is possible that he would even end up there permanently, because he still had nothing to look for in Union. But a much more tempting option emerged. Puchacz decided to transfer to Holstein Kiel, the sensational newcomer of the Bundesliga, who paid EUR 1.8 million for him last summer.
Unfortunately, if the autumn round proved anything, it was that Union knew what they were doing and did not focus on the Pole. Puchacz turned out to be too weak for the Bundesliga. Yes, the whole of Holstein Kiel does not really fit into this level, as they only scored 8 points in 15 games. However, even in such a team, the Pole was not a basic player. What's more, he left twice during the break, and against Mainz (0:3), the coach brought him off in the 33rd minute and not because of an injury. He didn't take advantage of longer chances, and his only assist was, paradoxically, against Bayern Munich, when he silenced the stands even though his team lost 1-6.
England the savior? The eagle owl can help with maintenance
In Holstein they are already sure that this is not the level and Puchacz was sent out. As it turns out, the transfer may take place soon. According to reports by Tomasz Włodarczyk from the Meczyki portalThe Pole will soon visit the next league in his career. We are talking about the Championship, the English base of the Premier League. Puchacz is to be loaned. Where? It is not known yet, but according to Włodarczyk, four clubs are involved: Plymouth Argyle, Hull, Stoke and Derby County.
All these teams are involved in the fight to stay in the Championship. Plymouth is in the worst situation, closing the table with a loss of 3 points from a safe position. Hull looks only slightly better, classified in 22nd place (out of 24 teams), although they have 3 points more and one game more than Plymouth. Derby and Stoke are the 18th and 19th teams in the league, respectively. Both teams have 27 points, which is only 4 points ahead of the relegation zone. If Puchacz actually gets there, he will be the third Pole in the Championship this season, next to Olaf Kobacki (Sheffield Wednesday) and Przemysław Płacheta (Oxford United).
