Medical assistance for Ukrainian citizens

Ukrainian citizens who seek refuge in Poland can count on free medical assistance. Some institutions set up helplines in Ukrainian. They also offer psychological support and work.

Aid for refugees was announced by the Damian Medical Center, which offered, among other things, health care and work to Ukrainian citizens.

– In the emergency room of the Damian Hospital, people from Ukraine can benefit from free emergency care, and in some cases we carry out free surgeries. Volunteers can take advantage of free internist and pediatrician care as well as medical examinations within the framework of POZ. At the same time, we invite Ukrainians to work. We help doctors, nurses and medical staff in the recognition of diplomas. We also offer work to psychologists, IT specialists, reception and call center employees – says Anastasia Vlasenko, an employee of the Damian Medical Center, in the video published on the Internet.

Psychological support in Polish and Russian can be obtained by calling: 22 566 22 27. A psychologist in Russian is available at this number on Tuesdays from 8 – 13, Wednesdays from 17 – 20 and on Fridays from 8 – 13. From Monday, February 28, at number 22 566 22 20, there will be a helpline in Ukrainian, which will help you find your place in the Polish health system. Free emergency internist help at the emergency room of the Damian Hospital is offered from Monday to Friday from 07.30 – 20.00; on Saturdays from 08.00 – 20.00; on Sunday from 08.00 – 16.00. From Monday, at each facility, there will be a Ukrainian-speaking person at the reception, who will provide interpreting services during visits to Polish doctors.

Medical assistance was also offered by the Lux Med Group. Among other things, urgent medical assistance will be provided for people coming from Ukraine. “The assistance will be provided in all LUX MED facilities throughout Poland and in 13 LUX MED Group hospitals. In order to direct people in need to the nearest facility, a special Polish-Ukrainian helpline was established at the phone number 22 45 87 007 and the e-mail address ua.kontakt@luxmed. pl “- writes the company in a press release.

Crisis Intervention Center in Krakow – psychological help

The Crisis Intervention Center in Krakow provides psychological assistance to Ukrainian citizens staying in this city.

“People in need of support can benefit from psychological assistance directly at the headquarters of the Center at Radziwiłłowska 8b or by contacting the 24-hour telephone number 12 421 92 82 (currently telephone contact only in Polish). It is also possible to contact us via instant messaging, please for earlier telephone contact “- we read in the announcement on the website. The center is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Health Minister: every citizen of Ukraine can count on access to medical care

Health Minister Adam Niedzielski said that “every Ukrainian citizen who comes to Poland fearing for his health and life can count on access to medical care”.

“We will also help the injured, who will not be able to help the Ukrainian side,” he added.

Vaccinations against COVID-19 for Ukrainian citizens

From February 25, 2022, the Minister of Health introduced the possibility of vaccinating foreigners of Ukrainian nationality as part of the National Vaccination Program against COVID-19.

“The condition for acquiring the right to vaccination is to have a document confirming identity. This document may be: an identity card or a passport or a temporary identity certificate of a foreigner – TZTC” – stated in the announcement on the website of the Ministry of Health.
