We, as Poles, suddenly discover that we do not know our neighbors – said Dariusz Duma, owner of Chiltern Business Farm and executive director at Family Business Network Polska – an organization associating family businesses – in an interview with TVN24 on the occasion of a meeting with entrepreneurs from Ukraine. It discussed aid and reconstruction of the war-stricken country.
– We, as Poles, suddenly discover that we have relatively poor relations and do not know our neighbors, which happened during the war. – said Dariusz Duma. – We know better Francewe know better Germanywhile in the case of Ukrainewho is close to us, whom we helped, suddenly it turned out that we knew nothing about her – he said, noting that “it was exactly the same on the other side”.
Therefore, the Association of Family Businesses from Poland initiated meetings with the Ukrainian section of the organization. Initially, they took place online, and their effect is the reunion, which took place in Poland.
– Representatives of fifty large Ukrainian family businesses came to visit Polish family businesses. First, to get to know each other. Second, to talk to each other. Third, to share experiences. Fourthly, there is the theme of gratitude of Ukrainian companies for what we did for them during the war, but above all, to ask the question – what after the war? What will reconstruction look like, what we expect from each other, how we could cooperate – pointed out Dariusz Duma.
“It will be a very beneficial meeting for both sides”
Adam Rozwadowski, president of Family Business Network Polska, founder of Enel-Med, explained that representatives of the Ukrainian branch were invited to exchange experiences and views. – We wanted to find out how their business works in order to find possible cooperation opportunities, help, because it is best to find out from people who are there – he said
He added that these relations of family businesses have a completely different feature, “they are warmer”. – We became friends immediately at today’s meeting, even though we saw them for the first time. I think that these contacts will be long-lasting, and they will certainly be very beneficial meetings for both sides, stressed Rozwadowski.
– We even had questions whether we would like to open our branches in Ukraine, because this medical aspect is extremely important. We represent a medical center that has a rehabilitation feature – he said. – Perhaps this will also result in these business contacts. Both aid and business are feasible – pointed out the founder of Enel-Med.
