Mueller: The proposed regulations are dangerous for Poland

After the meeting, government spokesman Piotr Mueller thanked “all those who were at this meeting today and who constructively discussed this important aspect of Poland’s security, but also the security of the whole of Europe and EU borders.”

– We were surprised by the attitude of some parliamentary clubs regarding the absence in such an important matter. After all, the prime minister only asks for such consultations between parliamentary clubs in the most important matters, and today’s absence of the Civic Platform, the Left or Szymon Hołownia Unfortunately, it shows that in such difficult moments, in key matters, one cannot count on a common position of various political options – he assessed.

Mueller assessed that “the provisions currently proposed by EU institutions are dangerous for Poland, but also for the entire European Union in the long term, because in the long term they will increase migration pressure.”

The Minister of European Affairs, Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk, said in turn that “those who are absent have no voice”.

– Today, the Prime Minister in the company of the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration, Mr. Minister Mariusz Kaminskiin my company, we met, among others, with representatives of parliamentary clubs to provide them with information about these provisions of the adopted draft regulation on the so-called general approach to the migration pact – he said.

Kosiniak-Kamysz: Poland should in no way bear the consequences of the automatic transfer of refugees

Head of the People’s Party Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz after the meeting, he said that on behalf of his community he presented their views “on migration, illegal migration, but also economic migration to Poland”. – Because I treat this case as a whole. Firstly, there is no consent to automatic relocation. Poland should in no way bear the consequences of the automatic transfer of refugees and such automaticity should not occur at the level of the European Union, he said.

Kosiniak-Kamysz noted that “no one can close his eyes to one and a half million Ukrainians who have been welcomed by Poland”.

– The first request I made was for the Polish government to apply to the European Commission for financing the stay of Ukrainians in Poland. We make up our own taxes on 500 plus for Ukrainians, for access to health care, for other social benefits. I believe that a thousand euros a month for a Ukrainian’s stay in Poland for Polish entrepreneurs, local governments in particular, non-governmental organizations, refinancing it by the European Union, is the minimum of decency – said the head of PSL.

– Of course, in our country there is no consent to the forced relocation of migrants. On the other hand, the dispute over what the regulation looks like has been going on for several days and the public opinion, I have the impression, does not fully know what it is all about and what provisions are in this regulation. We heard from Minister (Szynkowski aka) Sęk that the regulation uses such a level of generality that the Polish government will absolutely not agree to its provisions, she described.

Budka: Morawiecki organizes another political happening

The absence of KO politicians at the meeting at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister was explained by the head of this club in Wiejska Street Boris Budka.

– Mateusz Morawiecki organizes another political happening in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. Donald Tusk exposed their hypocrisy, exposed the fact that they were preparing a great action to bring, just last year, to Poland several hundred thousand immigrants from countries outside the European Union. Today, Morawiecki wants to divert attention, he said.

Draft EU regulation on migrants

The EU Migration Pact is at the stage of work. The draft regulation was agreed at the level of EU ministers (Poland and Hungary voted against). The project will go to further work, i.e. negotiations with the European Parliament. It then has to pass a vote in the EP and goes back to the Council for approval.
