As I said – I'm not stopping – the ring is my world, I'm having a great time in it – Julia Szeremeta said hotly after advancing to the semi-finals of the Olympic Games in Paris. The boxer fights in the 57 kilogram category and in the quarterfinals she defeated unanimously on points the 33-year-old Puerto Rican Ashleyann Lozada Motta and is therefore certain of at least a bronze medal! This is the first Polish boxing medal in 32 years and the Barcelona Olympics in 1992, where the bronze in the light heavyweight was won by Wojciech Bartnik.
Before the Olympic Games, Julia Szeremeta tried her hand at local elections
Currently, Julia Szeremeta is experiencing a beautiful sports history at the Olympic Games in Paris, but not so long ago, because at the beginning of April she tried her hand at local elections. The 20-year-old from the lists of the Confederation and Non-Party Local Government Committee tried to get into the Lublin Voivodeship Assembly.
“Proud Rich Lublin Region!” – this slogan was found on the election poster of Szeremeta, who was fourth on the list. However, she did not manage to get into the regional council, as she received only 1,409 votes. Probably if the elections were held after the games, there would have been many more votes.

Julia Szeremeta will face Filipina Nesthy Petecio in the semi-final of the Olympic Games. This clash will take place on Wednesday, August 7 at 21:46. In the second semi-final at 21:30, Turkish Esra Yildiz Kahraman will cross gloves with Taiwanese Lin Yu-ting.
