Mexico authorities initiated an investigation into the death of a 23-year fashion influencer, which was shot during live broadcast on social media. The President of Mexico Claudia Sheinbaum took the floor regarding the murder.

The prosecutor's office from the state of Jalisco in central-western Mexico informed about the death of the 23-year-old on Wednesday. Valeria Marquez was to die after the suspect entered her beauty salon in the city of Guadalajara and shot her with a firearm. The perpetrator's motive has not yet been established, but the prosecutor's office revealed that he was investigating the case for women, i.e. the murder of a woman because of her gender.

The recording published by CNN shows the moment when Marquez is unpacking the plush toy. – It's a small piglet! – We hear. After a while he is already dead, and a puddle of blood appears on the table in front of her. The broadcast was interrupted only after an unidentified person raised the phone, “said CNN. Earlier, Marquez told her viewers that someone came to her salon when she wasn't there, with a “expensive gift” – recorded Reuters. “Marquez, which seemed concerned, said that she was not going to wait for this person to return,” writes Reuters.

Local media reported that the 23-year-old was murdered by a man who brought her a gift. Marquez fans, whose profiles on Tiktoku and Instagram are observed by a total of almost 200,000 people, “they were terrified by death,” BBC said.

The President of Mexico took the floor

The mayor of the city of Zapopan Juan José Frangie said that his office has no information about Marquez to ask the authorities for help because of threats to her address.

The President of Mexico Claudia Sheinbaum also took the floor regarding the murder, informing that as part of investigating cooperation with the prosecutor's office, he will take up a security office in which high -ranking officials sit. “We are working on capturing responsible people and determining why this happened,” Sheinbaum said during a press conference.
