Mexico authorities are working on determining who the bones found in a secret crematorium in Jalisco belonged. They came across members of a collective dealing with the search for missing people. The president of the country Claudia Sheinbaum talks about the “terrifying” discovery.
Representatives of the Guerreras Buscadoras collective entered the ranch in Teuchitlán at the end of last week, after receiving an anonymous denunciation. On the spot, they found, among others, 200 pairs of shoes, clothes, handbags and backpacks scattered on the floor and a primitive obstacle course. For the first of three furnaces of a secret crematorium, the collective came across the first few hours of searching – said “Guardian” by writing about the “secret crematorium”. The collective suspects that the bones found belong to missing people and demands a detailed investigation.
Secret crematorium in Ranches
The local authorities confirmed that they found bones and scales after cartridges. However, they have not yet determined how many people belonged to the remains. The law enforcement authorities reported that they were not able to carefully search the extensive ranch when they discovered them a few months earlier, and the stoves and bones found last week were “hidden under the layer of soil and a brick plate, which prevented them from detecting them during the initial inspection.”
As the media remind, the mentioned ranch was searched by officers in September 2024 as part of an operation that led to the arrest of 10 suspects, the release of two alleged victims of the kidnapping and discovery of the body. The authorities came to the conclusion that the ranch probably served as a recruitment and training center for new members of the Jalisco cartel new generation (Jalisco Nueva Generación, CJNG).

President with a “terrifying” discovery
On Monday, Mexico President Claudia Sheinbaum described the last discovery as “terrifying”. During the press conference, she pointed out that despite the ranch by the authorities, the crematorium still served criminal groups. She also noted that her security office is in contact with the Jalisco authorities and announced the cooperation of the Ministry of the Interior with groups dealing with the search and organizations representing the missing families.
