Mexico. The bus rolled into a ravine, killing at least 29 people

On Wednesday in the Mexican state of Oaxaca there was a tragic accident involving a bus. 29 people have died, Oaxaca State Interior Minister Jesus Romero said. Another 19 people were injured.

29 people were killed and 19 injured on Wednesday when a bus rolled into a ravine in the town of Magdalena Penasco in the mountainous southern Mexican state of Oaxaca, local police said.

The state police said on Twitter that the bus was traveling from Mexico City to the city of Yosondua in western Oaxaca state. According to Jesus Romero, the state’s interior minister, the bus crashed around 6:30 a.m. when the driver appeared to have lost control of the vehicle.

The Reuters agency pointed out that this was the latest tragic accident that occurred recently on Mexico’s winding and steep roads. In April, 18 people died and dozens were injured when a bus fell off a cliff in the west of the country.
