The police were the first to reach the scene of a house fire that occurred in one of the towns in the Miączyn commune (Lublin Voivodeship). Thick smoke was coming from the windows, and three children were standing on the first-floor balcony. The officers managed to bring them to a safe place. Preliminary findings show that the fire was started by a six-year-old child when the mother was away from home for a while.
On Saturday at noon, the services received a report that a single-family house was on fire in one of the towns in the Miączyn commune. The first to arrive at the scene were policemen from the Miączyn police station.
“They noticed smoke coming from the window openings of the house and three children standing on the balcony of the first floor,” writes Assistant Commissioner Dorota Krukowska-Bubiło from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Zamość in a statement.

He adds that Senior Sergeant Paulina Dubas and Staff Sergeant Andrzej Banak reached the balcony using a ladder and brought the children to a safe place.
“At that time, Staff Sergeant Kamil Piluś started to extinguish the burning house,” the policewoman reports.

The fire was most likely caused by the youngest child
The fire brigade arrived immediately. According to preliminary police findings, three children aged six, ten and fifteen were in the house at the time of the fire.
“Their mother went outside the building for a moment. That's when the youngest child most likely started the fire,” notes the subordinate. Krukowska-Bubiło.
The fire consumed the interior of the building. Fortunately, nothing happened to the children. The police explain the detailed course of the incident.
