Michael Oher‘s former football coach is weighing in on his “unhappy” household feud.
Coach Hugh Freeze advised The Athletic Aug. 17 that he thinks the “details will come out” after Oher filed a legal petition claiming Memphis couple Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy lied about adopting him and really grew to become his conservators after he turned 18. Oher, a retired NFL participant, alleged the Tuohy household profited off of his life story by means of the 2009 film The Blind Aspect, per the paperwork obtained by E! Information.
Freeze—who labored with Oher because the coach at Briarcrest Christian Faculty in Memphis after which as assistant coach at Ole Miss—famous, “I feel it is unhappy.”
“I actually do not declare to grasp all of the ins and outs of adoption, conservatory, all of that. I do know what I witnessed,” he continued. “I witnessed a household that completely took in a younger man and I feel with out that, there isn’t a story.”
In response to the lawsuit, Sean Tuohy told the Daily Memphian Aug. 14 he was “devastated” by the allegations, including, “It is upsetting to assume we’d generate profits off any of our youngsters.”
