Complete degradation – said Deputy Speaker of the Sejm Piotr Zgorzelski (PSL) in “Kropka nad i”, referring to the information about the surveillance of politicians from the previous opposition. This was to be done by a detective hired by Daniel Obajtek. Michał Szczerba (KO) commented on the reports that Obajtek will be a candidate for the European Parliament from the PiS list. – He will not fight for the mandate. He will fight for impunity, he will fight for European immunity, he said.

Member of Parliament Michał Szczerba (Civic Coalition) and Deputy Speaker of the Sejm Piotr Zgorzelski (PSL) talked in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24 about the former president of Orlen, Daniel Obajtek.

On Tuesday, the Prime Minister Donald Tusk informed about the documentswhich indicate that Obajtek hired a detective to track opposition MPs PIS. – Orlen spent over a million zlotys on these detective services – according to the decision of Daniel Obajtek – added the head of government. The former president of Orlen denied this.

– We also learned at the last moment when entering the studio that among the people eavesdropped or spied on by the detective was also the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz – said Zgorzelski. In his opinion, if this information turns out to be true, “it will be confirmation of how rotten the country was left to us after the rule of Law and Justice.”

– There has been a complete deterioration – he said.

He pointed out that “there are the so-called four pillars of the modern world: democracy, capitalism, the rule of law and civil society.” – All four of these things have been eroded and undermined, and a great work of repair lies ahead of us – he added.

Szczerba referred to media reports that Obajtek will be a candidate for the European Parliament from the PiS list.

– He won’t actually fight for the mandate. He will fight for impunity, he will fight for European immunity, which is more difficult to abolish than in national parliaments. I want to say very clearly that even if necessary, we will follow Obajtek to Brussels and he will face Polish justice – he said.

– There is also a European prosecutor’s office, there are other options at the moment. It was all opened by this coalition, this government – he added.

Visa scandal. “Today we called Lech Kołakowski as a witness”

Szczerba – who is the chairman of the commission of inquiry into the visa scandal – talked about Monday’s hearing of Adam Burakowski, Polish ambassador to India in the years 2017-2023.

– It was very important for us that these reports of the consuls were confirmed by the ambassador India, who was there for six years. So the consuls (Damian – ed.) Irzyk, (Mateusz ed.) Reszczyk passed on information and today the ambassador did not want to say it officially, but suggested that he notified the services – said the KO MP.

He said that, unfortunately, he also had “bad news.” – This commission is becoming very progressive, we see new threads. There were many more such Wawrzyks around the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he added.

– Today we called Lech Kołakowski as a witness – he said, mentioning the former deputy minister of agriculture during the PiS government. – This was a man who left PiS for a while, got the position of an advisor to Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, came back and later it turned out that he had become some kind of lobbyist. In various parts of the world, whether it was Senegal or India, he arranged visas for specific business groups – Szczerba continued. – He even pushed the idea that visa issues should be opened up and the system should be untight, so that between one million and one and a half million citizens from African countries could enter Poland – he added.

“The state was taken over by one party”

Zgorzelski recalled that, in the opinion of PiS politicians, “it was just supposed to be a scandal.” – It turns out that this scandal turned out to be quite a scandal and quite a disaster – he said.

He expressed his appreciation for all MPs who work in this committee, but also in other investigative committees established during this term. – They are doing a really titanic and hard job of revealing to the public what it really was like. How this country was taken over by one party. This party milked our state body, of course covering itself with such a patriotic and national sauce. They had such a monopoly on patriotism – said the TVN24 guest.
