On February 6, the commission of inquiry into the visa scandal will begin its activities, we will present a list of witnesses, a work plan, and evidence – the chairman of the commission, Michał Szczerba from the Civic Coalition, announced in the Sejm on Tuesday. In his opinion, the scale of the visa scandal is much larger than reported in the media.
During Tuesday’s debate in the Sejm on the appointment of an investigative committee into the Pegasus case, Szczerba announced the commencement of the work of the investigative committee, which he will chair, regarding the visa scandal.
– On February 6, the commission of inquiry into the visa scandal will begin its activities with a meeting at which we will present a list of witnesses, a work plan, evidence materials, and appoint permanent advisors to the commission – announced Szczerba.
In his opinion, the scale of the so-called visa scandal “is much larger than reported in the media.” – This is a scandal showing how ordinary criminals and bribers reached the highest authorities PIS – he said.
An investigative committee will investigate the visa scandal
The commission of inquiry into the visa scandal is to investigate abuses, negligence and omissions in the legalization of the stay of foreigners on the territory of Poland, determine the number and identity of people who illegally crossed the border of the Republic of Poland or whose stay on the territory of the Republic of Poland was legalized as a result of abuses, omissions and omissions of the authorities. government administration or other entities and persons subject to the control of the Sejm.
The Commission is to assess visa intermediation agreements and the activities undertaken in connection with the preparation, conclusion or implementation of visa intermediation agreements. The scope of the committee’s work is to cover the period from November 12, 2019 to November 20, 2023.
