Zbigniew Ziobro, instead of publishing the photos, could have sent a medical certificate stating that he could not appear before the committee – said Magdalena Sroka, head of the parliamentary investigative committee on Pegasus surveillance, in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24. PiS MP Michał Wójcik said that Ziobro “did not come not because he is very sick, but because it is an illegal commission.”

Zbigniew Ziobro, former prosecutor general and minister of justice, was supposed to appear on Monday before the parliamentary investigative commission into surveillance of the Pegasus system, but he did not appear and did not justify his absence. It was decided to submit an application to the District Court in Warsaw to impose a fine on the former Minister of Justice. The next hearing date is set for November 4.

On Monday morning, Ziobro published an entry on the X platform, to which he attached photos from the hospital.

Sroka: Instead of publishing photos, Ziobro could have sent a certificate

The matter was commented on on Monday in “Kropka nad i” by the head of the committee, Magdalena Sroka, and PiS MP Michał Wójcik.

Sroka emphasized that “everyone is equal before the law.” – Today, Zbigniew Ziobro, instead of publishing photos, could have sent a medical certificate stating that he could not appear before the commission – she said.

She noticed that an interview with Ziobro was published on Friday. – The editor who interviewed him said he talked to him for over two hours. And he was in absolutely good shape, so he could appear before the commission – said Sroka. – This is just manipulation intended to evoke emotions – she said.

Wójcik: the minister will not appear before the committee

– The minister will not appear (before the commission – ed.) because you are illegal – said Wójcik, turning to the head of the commission.

– After all, no public official appeared before this commission, because it is obvious – either there is law or there is anarchy – he said.

When asked if he had talked to Ziobro, he confirmed. He added that he had talked to him before the program started.

– Minister Ziobro did not come not because he is very seriously ill, because that is obvious, but because you are here illegally, it is an illegal commission – said the PiS vice-president.
