– Today I feel great satisfaction that the wheels of justice are beginning to grind in a very fair way – Krzysztof Brejza said in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24. He referred to the charges brought against Michał Woś related to the purchase of Pegasus with funds from the Justice Fund, of which the Civic Coalition politician fell victim. Tobiasz Bocheński from PiS stated that the government did not present evidence that would indicate that during the rule of his party “there was organized surveillance of the opposition”.
MP of Sovereign Poland Michał Woś (club PIS) was charged on Tuesday with exceeding his authority and failing to fulfill his obligations in connection with the purchase of Pegasus software with funds from the Justice Fund. The former deputy minister of justice was placed under police supervision as a preventive measure.
Brejza: I feel great satisfaction
The case was commented on in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24 by PO MEP Krzysztof Brejza, who was one of the people spied on by Pegasus, and PiS MEP Tobiasz Bocheński.
– I feel great. Justice has been restored, the rule of law has been restored. And the first version of this mafia arrangement of PiS people, people of Solidarna (now Sovereign – ed.) Poland, who were behind this operation of opposition surveillance, has taken place – said Brejza.
– These are the people who created the system of protection and cover for theft. This was revealed by TVN journalists in report “Lizard” about the operation on me and my family, he continued.
– Today, after winning several trials with the PiS thugs, I feel great satisfaction that the wheels of justice are starting to turn in a very fair way. So that those guilty of this operation will be held accountable – he added.
Brejza also stated that Woś's argument that he acted to prevent crime was “nonsense”. – I am not a criminal, a spy, I did not kidnap children, I am not a terrorist. However, this toy was used by Ziobro's people to spy on the opposition. Secondly, I have been considered a wronged party for three years now. So PiS has made a group of people wronged out of the fund for helping wronged parties – he assessed.
Bocheński: the government did not present any evidence
Bocheński was asked about the justification for purchasing Pegasus with money from the Justice Fund.
– I believe that since there were opinions stating that it is justified to spend this kind of funds on this legal basis, and then there are other opinions, then the court will check whether the spending of funds was justified or not, because that is all we are talking about. We are not focusing on the ways of using Pegasus – he replied.
The PiS MEP argued that the prosecutor's actions against Woś are part of the government's political activity. – The Civic Coalition has been in power for a long time and has not presented us with any evidence that would tectonically shake the Polish state, indicating that there was organized surveillance of the opposition during the Law and Justice era – he said.
– After all, the courts, including the judge (Igor) Tuleyasigned consents to the use of wiretapping methods, i.e. in accordance with the law in force in Poland – then and today – added Bocheński.
