The landing of helicopters with soldiers in Michałów in Podlasie was registered on Saturday by one of the residents. In the border zone with Belarus, a state of emergency has been in force since September 2, which was extended by 60 days on September 30. According to Minister of Defense Mariusz Błaszczak, the Border Guard is supported by over 2,400 soldiers in protecting the border.
On Saturday, from one of the residents of Michałów in Podlaskie Voivodeship, TVN24 received photos showing the landing on the field of military helicopters. According to the author of the recording, four helicopters with several dozen soldiers landed.
The head of the Ministry of National Defense, Mariusz Błaszczak, informed on Friday that the Border Guard was supported by over 2,400 soldiers in protecting the border with Belarus. “We have erected over 130 km of temporary fencing and a horizontal barrier. A net is being built on both sides of the border to protect the animals from harm,” he wrote on Twitter.
Migrants from Michałów, including children, sent to the border
On Monday, September 27, over 20 migrants, including women and eight children, stayed in front of the Border Guard post in Michałów. The group was transferred to another location by coach on the same day. On Wednesday, the spokeswoman for the Podlasie Border Guard Unit, Katarzyna Zdanowicz, said that the migrants were “under the procedure in accordance with the regulation”. She added that the migrants “have been led to the border line and are now in Belarus”.
In a statement released on Friday, the Border Guard said that Border Guard officers “informed foreigners about the possibility of submitting an application for international aid, but the children’s parents refused to submit such an application in Poland.” These persons were only interested in submitting an application for international assistance in Germany “- added.

Border Guard: 601 attempts to illegally cross the border on Friday
On Saturday, the Border Guard informed on Twitter that on October 1, 601 attempts to illegally cross the border were recorded at the Polish-Belarusian border.The officers detained 29 illegal immigrants: 23 citizens of Iraq, three citizens of Iran, two citizens of Angola and a citizen of Congo, and for helping five foreigners – two citizens of Ukraine, two citizens of Syria and a citizen of Moldova.
Since August, the Border Guard has prevented more than 10,000 attempts to illegally cross the Polish-Belarusian border, and 1,500 people have been detained in the interior of the country and taken to refugee centers. Only in September 7,535 attempts were made to cross the border between our country and Belarus, the Border Guard reported.
A state of emergency on the border with Belarus
From September 2, a state of emergency has been in force in the border zone with Belarus – in 183 towns of the Podlaskie and Lubelskie voivodships. It was introduced for 30 days under the ordinance of President Andrzej Duda, issued at the request of the Council of Ministers. On Thursday, the Seym agreed to extend the state of emergency for another 60 days. On Friday the president signed the ordinancewhich was published in the Journal of Laws.
Government officials justified the need to introduce a state of emergency with the fact that Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s regime is waging a hybrid war using migrants and the Russian Zapad military exercises, the active part of which lasted on September 10-16.
