The tactics of the Belarusian power structures in the migration crisis are changing. Small groups of migrants are being pushed to the border with Lithuania, said Rustamas Liubajevas, the head of the Lithuanian State Border Protection Service (VSAT).

Last day, 70 attempts to illegally cross the Lithuanian-Belarusian border were thwarted. Two Belarusians who applied for asylum were admitted to Lithuania. Most cases of illegal border crossing were recorded in the south of the country, near the border with Poland.

– We have noticed that the tactics of representatives of Belarusian law enforcement agencies have changed – said Rustamas Liubajevas in an interview with the LRT public television. He indicated that migrants “are pushed to Lithuania in very small groups, three, four, five people each, which makes their detection and detention a bit more difficult.”
