A dangerous incident occurred at a pedestrian crossing in Mikołów (Silesian Voivodeship). The driver of the car, who was driving in the left lane, did not stop before the crossing where pedestrians with bicycles were walking. The woman backed up at the last moment and the car drove past her. The police publish the recording and emphasize that the perpetrator faces a high fine.

As we can see in the video published by the police, the driver of a car traveling in the right lane stops before the marked crossing to let pedestrians – a woman and a man – riding bicycles pass.
She backed away at the last moment
“At one point, the man shouts to the woman to warn her about an Opel driving in the left lane. The pedestrian backs up at the last moment, avoiding being hit,” we read in a statement from the Silesian police. The car doesn’t stop, the driver kept going.
The officers add that they are investigating the matter and that the perpetrator of the offense may face a high fine.
“Being especially careful in the area of marked crossings is one of the most important road traffic rules in terms of pedestrian safety. Even the smallest moment of inattention can lead to various situations with serious consequences,” the police emphasize.
