Millionaires. Marek Wojtuń won a million. See what questions he had to answer

Who is the new winner of “Millionaires”? Marek Wojtuń is a physics teacher, lives in Piaseczno. The first question he was asked before the millionaire game was about the purpose for which he would spend his winnings in the program. His answer was to travel by train Canada.

He started his game for a million in Tuesday's episode with a PLN 500 question about a word that occurs in large numbers, many forms and varieties. He dealt with it without any problems, as well as with the question for a guaranteed thousand zlotys, which concerned the reasons for establishing the highest British order by Edward III.

The first steps started with the PLN 2,000 question about martial arts: What do UFC fighters compete in? A: in a circle; B: in hexagon; C: in the Pentagon; D: in the octagon. The participant did not know the answer to this question, so he asked Hubert Urbański to reject two incorrect answers, thus using the first lifeline. Regarding the remaining two answers, Mr. Marek had no doubts and asked to mark answer D. It was a good decision.

The participant used the second lifeline when asking the question for PLN 125,000 for the coat of arms. Which sides of the coat of arms according to blazoning are not the same sides in the understanding of the person looking at the coat of arms? A: lower and upper; B: posterior and anterior; C: left and right; D: passive and active. Mr. Marek admitted that it didn't mean anything to him, so after a moment of reflection he asked to use the lifebuoy “a question to the audience”. This turned out to be helpful, as many as 56 percent the audience indicated the answer regarding the left and right sides. The participant followed the majority's advice and asked to mark this answer. The decision turned out to be the right one. The next question worth a quarter of a million zlotys was not a problem for the teacher, which made him end Tuesday's episode on a positive note.

Mr. Marek's path to a million returned in Wednesday's episode, which he started with a question worth half a million zlotys about the number of tarsal bones in humans. The participant did not know the answer to this question and did not want to risk losing, so he asked – for the eighth question – a lifeline that allows him to change the question. After the exchange, Mr. Marek had to answer a question about TV series.

Which musician did not play a drug dealer, a pimp, or an Interpol agent in the series “Miami Vice”? A: Frank Zappa, B: Miles Davis, C: Leonard Cohen, D: Jimi Hendrix.

Changing the question did not prove to be entirely helpful, so the participant asked to use his last lifeline, i.e. calling a friend. Mr. Przemek, the participant's brother, was waiting on the other end of the phone. The call to my brother turned out to be a bull's-eye, because he unhesitatingly indicated the correct answer D, which Mr. Marek asked to mark.

Thanks to his brother's help, Mr. Marek got to the final question, worth one million zlotys. Unfortunately, he no longer had any life preservers available. After Hubert Urbański read the final question, the physicist considered every possible option for a moment. It read:

The structure of the digestive system of which animal indicates that it is a predator?

AND: llamas
B: koalas
C: pandas
D: deer

Mr. Marek wasn't sure of his answer, but he decided to take a risk and mark it answer C: “pandas”. – Either I will be a millionaire or I will be a meme – he added a moment before making the final decision. It was worth the risk. By selecting this answer, Mr. Marek Wojtuń from Piaseczno went down in history as the eighth participant of the Polish “Millionaires” who won the main prize.

In the history of the Polish edition of “Millionaires”, eight people have already won the main prize. So far, they were: doctoral student Krzysztof Wójcik (2010), retired teacher Maria Romanek (2018), classical philologist Katarzyna Kant-Wysocka (2019), musicologist Jacek Iwaszko (2021), accountant Tomasz Orzechowski (2022), Mateusz Żaboklicki (2023) and Tomasz Boruch (2024). On November 13, 2024, Mr. Marek Wojtuń joined this group.

Last time the million dollar question was: In what strait are two islands called yesterday and tomorrow, separated by less than four kilometers but with a time difference of as much as 21 hours? The correct answer was “in the Bering Strait”.

Each participant of the “Millionaires” program starts the game with three lifelines: a phone call to a friend, half and half and a question to the audience. Since last season, a fourth lifeline has also appeared: the replacement of a question that appears only after seven correct answers. To be included in the history of “Millionaires” among the winners, you must correctly answer 12 questions asked by Hubert Urbański.
