Today, President Radosław Piesiewicz is reciprocating to President Andrzej Duda. The president stood in the way of Mrs. Maja Włoszczowska – said the Minister of Sport, Sławomir Nitras, in “Fakty po Faktach”. He referred in this way to the recommendation for Duda as a member of the International Olympic Committee.

On Thursday, the Polish Olympic Committee adopted a resolution recommending President Andrzej Duda as a member of the International Olympic Committee. The IOC now has 111 members, with a maximum of 115.

Currently, the Polish representative in the IOC is Polish Olympic medalist Maja Włoszczowska, who has been working in the IOC Athletes' Commission since 2021 and on this basis has the status of an IOC member.

Nitras: President Piesiewicz retaliates against President Duda

These reports were commented on by the Minister of Sport in “Fakty po Faktach”. Sławomir Nitras (KO). – President Duda is suitable to be a member of the International Olympic Committee exactly as Mr (Radosław) Piesiewicz is suitable to be the president of the Polish Olympic Committee. Polish sport, the Polish Olympic Committee was staffed by activists PiS. Some of them have already fled, (…) and some are defending themselves at all costs, said Nitras.

– President Piesiewicz became the president of the Polish Olympic Committee only because you helped him (Jacek) Sasin and Mr. President (Andrzej) Duda. (…) Today, President Piesiewicz is reciprocating to President Duda – said the minister.

The guest of “Fakty po Faktach” believes that “the president really put himself in a ridiculous situation and it will end in tragedy.” – He stood in the way of Mrs. Maja Włoszczowska, who has been consistently climbing the career ladder in this international organization for years. In a moment, she was actually going to become a full member, permanently representing Poland, said Nitras.

When asked what would happen now, the minister replied that “the gentlemen from the Polish Olympic Committee have made such a mess, so let them deal with it now.”

According to him, the president should renounce this recommendation. – This is the only honorable solution. The president should also apologize to Mrs. Maja Włoszczowska, says Nitras.

Nitras: I know that Mr. Piesiewicz lies publicly

Nitras, when asked whether he knew everything about Radosław Piesiewicz's activities in the Polish Olympic Committee, e.g. about his earnings and whether all inspections (in the case of the president of the Polish Olympic Committee – ed.) had been completed, replied that “he knows everything.” – The inspections are not for me to find out anything. The inspections are for the public to know. There is control by the audit commission, there is control by President Trzaskowski, there is control by the Supreme Audit Office – Nitras enumerated. He said he “knew a lot.”

– I know, for example, that Mr. Piesiewicz lies, lies publicly. Unfortunately, he manipulated many journalists because Mr. Piesiewicz earns one hundred thousand zlotys a month. One hundred thousand zlotys a month, not the 30,000 he is talking about – said the Minister of Sport.

– Within a year and a half, Mr. Piesiewicz earned five or maybe six times more from the Polish Olympic Committee than he paid for the Olympic gold medal – explained Nitras.

He recalled that Aleksandra Mirosław received PLN 250,000 for the gold medal in Paris. – And Mr. Piesiewicz received about one and a half million in a year and a half – said the Minister of Sports. He added once again that he “knows everything.” – The problem is that institutions have to confirm this. And I call on the Supreme Audit Office, I call on the PKOI audit committee to formally disclose these shocking facts – said the interlocutor of “Fakty po Faktach”.
