Information on the suspension of permits of exploration and exhumation work performed by the Ukrainian Ministry is untrue – said the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage on Saturday.
“The Ministry of Culture and National Heritage denies information on the suspension of the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communication of Ukraine permits for search and exhumation work permits – this is false information” – it was written in a statement.
The Ministry of Culture pointed out that disinformation entries appearing on social media, using the image of Professor Andrzej Ossowski and false documents pretending to be a letter published by the Ukrainian side, were reported to the relevant services.

The remains of at least 42 people were excavated
During the exhumation started on April 24, the remains of at least 42 people – women, men and children were extracted in Puźniki. Puźniki is a village in today's Ternopilian region in the West Ukraine. This is the first such work since the Ukrainian side abolished in November 2024 a ban on the search and exhumation of the remains of Polish victims of wars and conflicts in Ukraine. These works were completed on May 10. However, as Alina Charłamowa from the Ukrainian Volhynia antiquity foundation said at the time, the search in this non -existent village will continue; There should be one more grave.
Experts from the Pomeranian Medical University, Volyn companies of antiquity and the Institute of National Remembrance took part in the works coordinated by the “Freedom and Democracy” Foundation. The works are entirely financed from the budget of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
In May, the head of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Hanna Wróblewska reminded that “at the moment during the processing of consents there are 26 applications submitted by Polish and three entities from Ukraine.”
