From November 1, prescriptions for medicines containing certain narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances will be issued only in electronic form, the Ministry of Health said.
The Minister of Health informs that on November 1, 2023, new regulations will come into force, according to which it will not be possible to issue a paper prescription for medicines containing certain narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances.
It will also not be possible to fill a paper prescription issued after this date in a generally accessible pharmacy or pharmacy. “However, prescriptions issued in paper form before November 1, 2023 (i.e. no later than October 31, 2023) will be able to be effectively filled after that date in a generally accessible pharmacy or pharmacy point within their intended validity period, i.e. no later than November 30, 2023” – he explained health department.
Prescriptions without the possibility of issuing and deferring its implementation
It was emphasized that no paper prescription for these drugs or substances will be able to be effectively filled from December 1.
“The deadline for fulfilling prescriptions for medicines containing any narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances, for preparations containing these drugs or substances and category 1 precursors, regardless of the form of these prescriptions (paper or electronic), is unconditionally 30 days from the date of issuance of the prescription,” the Ministry of Health noted.
At the same time, it was recalled that exceptionally – unlike prescriptions for other types of drugs, no prescription (including a paper one) for a drug containing a narcotic drug or psychotropic substance, a preparation containing these drugs or substances or category 1 precursors, may be issued with a postponement of its implementation. by including the implementation date “as of”.
