A resident of the Mircze (Lubelskie) commune will be responsible for the abuse of animals. Four dogs, found on the property of the 64-year-old, were taken to the shelter. The owner of the quadrupeds was detained by the police.
The 64-year-old was arrested by policemen from the police station in Dołhobyczów. Officers determined that the man kept the dogs in very poor conditions.
– As it turned out, there were four dogs on the property of the 64-year-old – in makeshift kennels. They were tied up on short tethers, which caused them suffering and created a real risk of suffocation – said press officer Edyta Krystkowiak from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Hrubieszów.
The dogs were taken to the shelter
The animals were secured by policemen and transferred to the care of the Commune Crisis Management Team of the Mircze Commune Office, and then they were sent to the Animal Shelter in Zamość. The dogs were under veterinary care.
The 64-year-old was detained by policemen. Heard allegations of animal abuse. According to the Animal Protection Act, there is a penalty of up to three years’ imprisonment.
