Mirosław Kurkowski, a professor at a Warsaw university, has disappeared

53-year-old Mirosław Kurkowski has not contacted his family since December 3. The missing person is a professor at one of Warsaw's universities. – He left his laptop and books at home, ate something, and wrote a note saying he was going out, says the missing man's wife. The search is ongoing.

The family's last telephone contact with the missing person took place on December 3, around 10 a.m. When returning from the trip, he informed his wife that he would return home to Blachownia in the Częstochowa district around noon. – Neighbors saw him and confirmed that he had returned. He left his laptop and books at home, ate something, and also wrote a note saying that he was going “out” – said the missing man's wife, Katarzyna Kurkowska, on Friday evening.

Shortly after leaving the house, Kurkowski turned off the two SIM cards in the phone and the location, preventing further contact. He then left the residence in a silver-gray Mitsubishi Outlander.

“We're still looking”

According to Kurkowska, on the night of December 3-4, the man's phone briefly logged into the network near his place of residence. The car camera of one of the drivers also recorded the missing person's vehicle in Wręczyca at a similar time.

The search conducted by the local police is intense, but has not yielded any breakthrough so far. The officers are appealing for help in finding Kurkowski and his vehicle.

– We are still looking for a man. We also did not find his vehicle – said the press officer of the Częstochowa police, Assistant Commissioner Barbara Poznańska.

The 53-year-old missing person is approximately 190 cm tall, has a stocky build, short dark hair and brown eyes. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a black winter jacket, black winter shoes and dark jeans. The vehicle has registration numbers SCZ 7534A.
