The Polsat Festival in Sopot has already undergone numerous metamorphoses, but this year's edition was unique. For the first time, the program director of the station fully signed under it Edward Miszczak. Does this mean that now Polsatian Sopot is closer to this TVN? Or maybe to Opole TVP? I was, I listened and I have several conclusions.
The best performance of the festival? Artistic raising of Maryla and Ralph
Above all The program of this year's Polsat Hit Festival was very well constructed. There were stars that actually generate the largest ranges and arouse interest. The audience is waiting not only for their hits, but festival creations and show on stage. In Sopot, the 50th on stage with Włodzimierz Korcz celebrated Alicja Majewska And she did it, as usual, with great sensitivity, class and amazing voice strength. A former queen of Polish song (from a change of power not to Opole and in general to TVP), which together with Ralph Kamiński gave probably the best performance of this year's festival. Medley songs Maryla Rodowicz Singed with Ralph, it was an artistic elationand at the same time something that went to the mass audience. A well thought -out and unique show, with unique costumes of Kuba Jasiński. This performance will go down in the history of the Sopot scene. Of course, it was a certain range and views Justyna Steczkowskawhich came to the forest opera almost from Basel. The audience drank with delight and reacted incredibly to every element of the Eurovision Show Steczkowska. It would seem that among the stars awaited at the song festivals there was only Beata Kozidrak, but here the organizers also thought and had a gift for fans – artists of the Saturday concert in the final sang together “White army“, which conquered the hearts of many viewers. Finally, there are memorial concerts so loved by the Polish audience. What's more, the selection of artists is thought out and there is no place for cases and squeezing someone with their knee, by force. What the viewers did not like, concluding a large number of comments on the web, were too much arrangement changes in a concert with songs Seweryn Krajewski (We wrote more about it here: The viewers saw Polsat's concert and grabbed their heads. Avalanche). But let's be honest, the Polish audience does not like the changed arrangements. He likes the “God's” execution the most, similar to the original, in which only the vocal performances of the performers are to bring new quality. Another thing is that very often new arrangements are poorly prepared, cropping, recombined – this must be struggling with television ears at many television concerts.
However, I would not pick on new arrangements. I miss the competition and prizes the most at the Polsat Hit festival. Festivals love competitions, competition between artists and statuettes, which are related not so much to money as with prestige. Opole has Karolinki and from two editions again Superjynki, Top of the Top has amber Nightingale, and Polsat? Prizes awarded “from the station” and “for the overall” are not important and are quickly forgotten. It may be worth returning to the Sopot's roots and remind you of the very good formula of the Trendy concert. And here you do not need to combine a lot – it is enough that well -known music and show business journalists nominate for the competition after one song, which in a given season is a indicator of quality for them, but also has the potential to become a festival hit. These songs should sound in the competition, and the viewers will decide who wins “Sopot Polsat”. It really worked well for years and it was well remembered by individual winners. Let's return like in the old days, for the benefit of the festival.
Polsat showed that he respects the work of journalists
It is impossible not to mention the Polsat team's approach to journalists from other editorial office. And it really is not that Polsat is spreading in front of journalists Roach Red carpets. During our work at the festival, many positive surprises met us. Even the fact that accreditation and festival informants were waiting for us in the room. There was an integration lunch with a nice chat with director Miszczak and a general understanding that journalists should be helped to promote the festival and not disturb. Facilitates work that is demanding, intense and sometimes tedious, not throw logs at your feet. A huge respect for the Polsat team for this approach in this aspect.
Miszczak analyzed well how the competition does it
I have the impression that Director Miszczak and the whole team working with him at the festival well analyzed what was happening in this event in previous years and what could be done better. The effect is really good. Sopot Polsat left everything that was best in these events so far and at the same time saw, for which Poles love Opole festivals. It gave a really qualitative whole together. And the fight for the viewer in this case was uneven. Let us remember that on Friday evening the competition was broadcasting the presidential debate Trzaskowski-Nawrocki, and the day later the meeting of Mentzen with Trzaskowski aroused great interest. And also an extremely cold May took its toll. After all, the audience gathered at the Forest Opera spontaneously reacted to most of the performances and was delighted with such artists. This is a good direction.
