In the municipality of Stupsk near Mława, a dog severely bit a 14-year-old girl. According to the police, the child with chest wounds was taken to hospital. The animal was not vaccinated. The person in whose care they were exposed to the risk of up to five years in prison.
As the spokeswoman for the Mława police of asp. pcs. Anna Pawłowska, a 14-year-old girl was bitten by a dog on Tuesday evening in one of the villages in the commune of Stupsk.
– A 14-year-old girl helped a neighbor bring two large mixed breed dogs to the yard that had escaped from the pen. While putting a collar on one of the dogs, the animal broke free and attacked a girl standing nearby. The bitten child, with chest injuries, was taken to the hospital in Ciechanów, Pawłowska said.
The dog did not have valid vaccinations
As she added, the woman who looked after the dogs in the absence of the owner was sober. – It was established that the dog that attacked the girl did not have up-to-date vaccinations. The fate of the animal will be decided by the District Veterinary Doctor – Pawłowska noted. She assured that “the police explain the circumstances of the incident in detail”.
– The person in whose care the dog was exposed to serious consequences, including a sentence of three months to five years imprisonment – emphasized a spokeswoman for the police in Mława. At the same time, she reminded that it is the owners and keepers that are responsible for maintaining maximum precautions so that the animal does not endanger anyone.
