The 53-year-old wanted to get to the cemetery. His plans were thwarted by traffic policemen who noticed a missing window in his Volkswagen and were also concerned about the driver’s driving style. It turned out that the driver was drunk and had a driving ban.

Spokesperson of the District Police Headquarters in Mława, Asp. pcs. Anna Pawłowska reported that a damaged Volkswagen driving through the Strzegowo commune caught the attention of traffic policemen. – The vehicle did not have a rear window, instead there were remnants of broken glass – said the spokeswoman. The driver’s driving style also indicated that he may be driving under the influence of alcohol.

The officers’ suspicions were confirmed. A 53-year-old resident of Mława County was drunk behind the wheel. A breathalyzer test showed over 2 per mille of alcohol in his body. The man told the police that he wanted to go to the cemetery, and the car was damaged a few months ago and the window has not been replaced yet.

During the inspection, it turned out that the detained person had a court ban on driving. The man faces up to five years in prison.
