The Moldovan authorities refused entry to their country to a group of boxers from Montenegro. Local media say this follows the country’s president’s disclosure of information about Russian plans for a coup in Moldova, which would include saboteurs’ attacks on government buildings, including hostage-taking. According to the findings of the Moldovan services, saboteurs from Serbia, Belarus, Russia and Montenegro would be disguised as civilians.

Denied entry to the territory Moldova for five boxers and their trainer was confirmed on social media on Wednesday by both the Moldovan border guard and the team from Montenegro.

The border services of Moldova, as determined by the Deschide portal, did not allow Montenegrin citizens to leave the airport in Chisinau. The players were to take part in the international boxing tournament held in this city between February 15 and 17.

“At the airport in Chisinau, the policemen did not allow our team to stay in Moldova without giving any explanations (…) and we were asked to return to Montenegro on the next flight,” the boxers wrote on Facebook, adding that they would only leave the airport on Thursday morning.
