The Moldovan press reports that Jewgenija Gucul was transferred from prison to home custody for 30 days. The leader of the pro -Russian autonomous gagausia was imprisoned in Chisinau from March 25 on charges of electoral fraud.
Detained pro -Russian leader of the Gagauska ethnic minority in Moldova Jewgenija Gucul was transferred to home custody for 30 days on Wednesday – Moldova Portal Newsmarker said.
38-year-old Jewgenija Gucul, heading local authorities since 2023, was created as a politician by the pro-Russian oligarch Ilana Sora. In the opinion of analysts, she is the chosen one of the Kremlin, which is designed to destabilize Moldova.
Gucul is suspected of illegal financing of the former Sora party. According to investigators, she systematically brought cash to Moldova for this purpose Russia.

She was detained on March 25 at the airport in Chisinau, and the National Anti -Corruption Bureau stated that she was detained as part of an investigation regarding the illegal financing of the Gagausja election campaign in 2023.
