The presidents of Poland and Mongolia, Andrzej Duda and Uchnaagijn Chürelsüch, discussed economic cooperation and global security in Ulaanbaatar. A meeting of Andrzej Duda with the Mongolian prime minister and head of parliament is also planned.

Meeting Andrzej Duda and Uchnaagijna Chürelsücha started after 11 am local time (5 am in Poland). Then, the presidents had a face-to-face conversation, as well as in the company of delegations.

Economic intergovernmental agreements were signed in the presence of the heads of state. – We have concluded four international agreements. They concern development issues for the coming years, they concern cooperation in those areas that are of particular interest to us today. In the first place, we would say that it is a joint action on geological issues. We hope for joint mining activities in the future – said Duda at the conference.

Head of the Presidential Office of International Policy Marcin Przydacz announced that during the visit – apart from economic issues – the subject of security in the context of Russian aggression on Ukrainewhich has resulted in a deterioration of the security situation around the world.

– We are aware that Mongolia, as a country located between Russia and China, has its own perspective on the politics of these two countries – said Przydacz. He explained that the president “respects the conditions of each of his partners in political talks, but the rules of international law should apply to everyone, especially Russia, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council.”

– Certainly, President Andrzej Duda will present all the arguments for supporting Ukraine, which is fighting to defend itself, and at the same time put as much pressure as possible on the Russian side to stop its senseless aggression – described Przydacz.

On Tuesday, President Duda’s interlocutors in Ulaanbaatar will also include Prime Minister Luwsannamsrain Ojun-Erdene and the speaker of the parliament Gombojaw Zandanshatar. A Polish-Mongolian business forum and the official opening of the Polish embassy in Ulaanbaatar by President Duda are also planned.

During his visit to Mongolia, the Polish president is accompanied by his wife, Agata Kornhauser-Duda.
