President Andrzej Duda and First Lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda arrived on Monday on an official visit to Mongolia. The president will meet in Ulaanbaatar with his Mongolian counterpart, as well as with the country’s prime minister. The talks will focus on the development of economic cooperation and the security situation in the world.

On Tuesday, President Duda’s interlocutors in Ulaanbaatar will be Mongolian President Uchnaagiin Khurelsuch, Prime Minister Luwsannamsrain Ojun-Erdene and Speaker of Parliament Gombojaw Zandanshatar.

– The purpose of the visit is to maintain economic cooperation. For Mr. President, opening new markets for Polish entrepreneurs is of great importance – said the head of the International Policy Office of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland Marcin Przydacz. He added that economic intergovernmental agreements will be signed during the visit, and a Polish-Mongolian business forum will be held.

The presidential minister pointed out that Mongolia is a good investment location for the Polish mining and engineering industries, both in the agricultural and mining sectors. He also pointed to the possibilities of cooperation within the food sector and in the field of afforestation.

The head of BPM announced that the topic of security will also be discussed during the visit, in the context of Russian aggression against Ukrainewhich has resulted in a deterioration of the security situation around the world.

– We are aware that Mongolia, as a country located between Russia and China, has its own perspective on the politics of these two countries – said Przydacz. He noted that the president “respects the conditions of each of his partners in political talks, but the rules of international law should apply to everyone, especially Russia as a permanent member of the Security Council.” UN“.

– Certainly Mr. President Andrzej Duda He will present all the arguments for supporting Ukraine, which is fighting to defend itself, and at the same time put as much pressure as possible on the Russian side to stop its senseless aggression, stressed Przydacz.

Duda is also to present the Polish position on these issues during a lecture at the university in Ulaanbaatar. – The president will raise the issue of the world order based on the principle of legalism, i.e. action based on international law, and the principle of multilateralism, i.e. the harmonious cooperation of many states in the international system – added the head of BPM.

The official opening of the Polish embassy in Ulaanbaatar by President Duda is also planned.

Przydacz also drew attention to the historical context of the visit, recalling that in the early 1990s Polish oppositionists helped Mongolia organize free elections. – The president will refer to the good cooperation from those years – added the minister.
