There is no campaign yet, but some politicians are already announcing and agitating – the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, among others, pays for this. MP Monika Pawłowska promotes the association from the Lublin region with her photo on the billboard. This project received millions of zlotys from the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. Material of the magazine “Polska i Świat”.

The value of the entire project is over PLN 3 million – three months before the elections, however, the billboard is priceless. – If someone accuses immorality, he is immoral – says Monika Pawłowska from PIS. – I am happy and proud that I can contribute to the safety of women – she adds.

The Prime Minister’s office pays for the billboard in the vicinity of Biłgoraj – by chance in the MP’s constituency. – It is illegal to finance a political party. Sooner or later, the prosecutor’s office will take care of it, announces Adam Szłapka from Nowoczesna.

According to information from Wirtualna Polska, the Safe Lublin Region Association received money for the project from the earmarked fund of the Prime Minister’s office. There was no competition – the law firm received an offer, the association received money.

Comments of opposition politicians

– That’s why they pushed various people to companies or institutions, so that then these people would campaign for them in a way that pretended that it was not a campaign – he believes Barbara Nowacka from the Civic Coalition.

The association’s spokesperson is a former associate of MP Pawłowska. – The purpose of foundations is to receive money from the state budget and carry out statutory activities, not to promote this or that politician of this or that political party – indicates Tomasz Trela from the Left.

In an interview with the local portal, the spokesperson of the association points out that they are an apolitical organization. The costs of the billboard campaign amount to about PLN 250,000, and the posters hang not only in the 7th electoral district, but also in the 6th.

– If I knew today that there are such people in the Left club as MP Pawłowska in the past, I would ask to say goodbye to such a person myself – Krzysztof Gawkowski, the chairman of the Left club, assures.

The MP has gone through a rather complicated path in her political career – right behind the criticism of the PiS government, she resigned from the political colors of the Left and joined the Agreement Jarosław Gowin. At that time, she swore that she would remain outside the parliamentary club – but not for long, because when Gowin’s party left the government coalition, the MP joined the PiS club.

Questions about funding “information campaigns”

– I do not know who finances individual billboards. However, when it comes to information campaigns, parliamentarians have the right to carry out this type of activity, says PiS spokesman Rafał Bochenek.

And in this way, PiS politicians inform on giant billboards about the announced tender, about the funds transferred in the constituencies, about the program convention taking place or with wishes for safe holidays.

“It’s an image campaign. Everyone has the right to run an image campaign and thus build image and credibility” – assures Michał Moskal, director of the political office Jarosław Kaczyński.

Officially, there is no election campaign, although – looking at the billboard landscape – one can get a completely different impression. – Urgent intervention by the OSCE is needed. Not counting votes, because we can handle that, but above all, controlling the way the campaign is run, says Marek Sawicki from the Polish People’s Party.

– It is necessary to inform, because people have to make a decision in a fully and conscious way – argues the prime minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

Journalists from “Poland and the World” asked PiS politicians who financed the billboards, but they did not receive an answer until the broadcast. The questions mainly concern whether, by financing the government’s information campaigns with public money, it also finances the PiS campaign.
