IMGW has issued first and second degree alerts. Forecasters are warning of very high temperatures, which in the shade can reach 34 degrees Celsius. Check where it will be hot.
Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMWM) issued first and second degree warnings on a three-point, ascending scale.
IMWM warnings of the second degree – heat
Second-degree heat warnings are in effect in the following provinces:
- Pomeranianin the counties of Nowy Dwór, Malbork, Sztum, Kwidzyn;
- Warmia-Masuria;
- Podlasie;
- Masovian;
- Lodz;
- Kuyavian-Pomeranianin the counties of Grudziądz, Wąbrzeźno, Brodnica, Rypin, Lipno, Toruń, ToruńAleksandrów, Radziejów, Włocławek, Wloclawek;
- Lublinin the following counties: Biała Podlaska, White PodlasieŁuków, Radzyń, Parczew, Lubartów, Ryki, Puławy, Hrubieszów, Tomaszów;
- Świętokrzyskieoutside the following poviats: Opatów, Sandomierz, Staszów, Busko, Kazimierz;
- Lesser Polandin the counties of: Oświęcim, Chrzanów, Olkusz, Miechów;
- Silesian, outside the Żywiec district;
- Opole;
- Subcarpathianin the counties: Lubaczów, Przemyśl, Przemyśl.
The maximum temperature during the day will be from 29 to 34 degrees Celsius, and thermometers at night will show a minimum of 18-20 degrees Celsius.
In most provinces, the warnings will be valid until 7 p.m. on Sunday. In the Lublin province (in the Hrubieszów and Tomaszów counties) and in the Podkarpackie province (in the counties of: Lubaczów, Jarosław, Przemyśl and Industry) the alarms will remain in force until 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
First degree IMWM warnings – heat
First-degree heat warnings are also in effect. They cover the following provinces:
- Świętokrzyskie, except for counties covered by higher level warnings;
- Subcarpathia, poviats: Lubaczów, Jarosław, Przemyśl, Przemyśl;
- Lublinexcept for counties covered by higher level warnings;
- SilesianŻywiec district;
- Lesser Polandwith the exception of the Nowy Targ and Tatra counties and those covered by higher level warnings.
In these places the maximum temperature during the day is expected to reach 30 to 33 degrees Celsius.
The warnings will be valid until 7pm on Sunday.
What is the second degree IMWM meteorological warning?
Second degree warning predicts the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena causing large material losses and a threat to health and life. Dangerous phenomena or the effects of their occurrence significantly limit the conduct of business. Expect disruptions in everyday functioning. Great caution is recommended, the need to track messages and the development of the weather situation. Follow all recommendations issued by the rescue services in the event of a threat. Adjust your plans to the weather conditions.
