More women than men study at universities in the capital and other larger cities in Masovia – according to the latest data published by the Statistical Office. The information was collected on the occasion of International Students’ Day, celebrated on November 17.
As of December 31, 2022, 274,620 people were studying at universities in the Masovian Voivodeship – the Statistical Office in Warsaw reported on Friday, citing data from the Integrated Information System on Science and Higher Education POL-on administered by the Ministry of Education and Science.
60 percent of all students in Masovia are women
Almost 60 percent of all students in Masovia were women. 250,131 students (139,956 women and 110,175 men) studied at universities in Warsaw.
Full-time studies were more popular than part-time studies. Throughout the province 161,348 people studied full-time in Masovia (149,783 people in Warsaw), and 113,272 people studied part-time in Masovia (100,348 people in the capital).
The number of students at public and private universities was similar. 139,231 people studied at public universities throughout Mazovia, in Warsaw – 127,561 people; 135,389 students at private universities throughout the voivodeship, 122,570 people in the capital.
Number of foreign students
