The decision of the majority of members of the Medical Council to advise the government on the COVID-19 epidemic was commented on by the President of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski. He judged that they expressed “a total lack of trust for the rulers” and showed that “the rulers simply do not listen to specialists and take full responsibility for what is happening in Poland today”.
Thirteen of the seventeen members of the Medical Council resigned on Friday from advising the government on the COVID-19 epidemic. In the statement, they said that the decision to resign was made due to the “lack of influence of the recommendation on the actual activities” and “exhaustion of the existing cooperation”.
Trzaskowski, commenting on this decision in “Fakty po Faktach”, said that “these great authorities in the world of medicine decided to advise the government, although it was not easy, because in the last few months the rulers did not listen to the voice of specialists at all, but the measure she changed clothes “.
Seeing that the government did not intend to actively counter the pandemic, seeing this enormous chaos, seeing also an increase, unfortunately, of those that end in death and also the occupancy of hospitals, the majority of the Council decided to resign, thus expressing a complete lack of confidence in the rulers and showing that the rulers simply do not listen to specialists and take full responsibility for what is happening in Poland today – he added.
– Unfortunately, Prime Minister (Mateusz) Morawiecki is simply afraid, afraid of making decisions, afraid of this strong anti-vaccine lobby. The Polish government does not want to show courage here – said Trzaskowski.
