Police officers from Góra Kalwaria were the first to reach the burning nursing home. They ran into the building and helped several residents out. They also found the source of the fire and began extinguishing operations.

On Saturday, around 7 p.m., a fire broke out in a nursing home at 1 Szpitalna Street in Góra Kalwaria. All rescue services were dispatched to the scene, but the first to reach there were: the district officer, senior officer Sławomir Biernacki and an officer of the patrol and intervention team. junior aspirant Maciej Kęsik.

– Officers, seeing the thick smoke coming out of the building, as well as the spreading fire, without a second thought, risking their lives, ran into the smoky building. It turned out that in one of the wards there are still people who have not managed to leave the building on their own. When the uniforms determined that the residents and staff are safe and no one is missing, they returned to the burning facility, where, after finding the source of the fire, they started the firefighting operation, said Magdalena Gąsowska from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Piaseczno.

After a while, two fire brigade units arrived on the spot, which took over the extinguishing operation and extinguished the fire. – Thanks to the efficient actions of the officers, none of the evacuated people was injured – summed up Gąsowska.
