Heavy rainfall hit southern Poland on Wednesday. In the town of Góra Motyczna in the Dębicki poviat (Podkarpackie Voivodeship), the streets turned into streams. According to the press spokesman of the Dębica firefighters, more than a hundred applications were received in the region by Wednesday evening.

On Wednesday evening, the weather in parts of the country is stormy and rainy. As the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management reported on social media around 9 p.m., a stationary rainfall zone extends over Małopolska and Podkarpacie. At the Grybów hydrological station (Podkarpackie Voivodeship), the warning level on the Biała Tarnowska River was exceeded.

Over 100 firefighter interventions

The downpours took their toll on the inhabitants of the village of Góra Motyczna near Grybów in the Dębica district. The recording published by the Storm Observers Network shows rainwater flowing down the streets and encroaching on properties.

As explained in an interview with tvnmeteo.pl, the spokesperson of the Poviat Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Dębica brig. Jacek Pawłowski, more than 100 applications were received by Wednesday evening storms. Interventions in the region, mainly related to flooding, lasted until late. The biggest downpour losses were caused by the communes of Czarna and Żyraków, where Góra Motyczna is located. Firefighters also had their hands full in Dębica.
