– They organized a political group with criminal features, on a huge scale that has never existed in Poland before – this is how Marta Wcisło from the Civic Coalition commented on the case related to the Justice Fund in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24. – Law and Justice and Sovereign Poland have the biggest problem with the fact that this came to light. Not because it was unethical, immoral, unfair towards crime victims – added Anna Maria Żukowska, chairwoman of the Left Parliamentary Club.

For several days now, the media have been publishing tapes that were recorded by Tomasz Mraz, former director of the Justice Fund Department at the Ministry of Justice, over the last two years. They concern the functioning of this particular fund. Mraz is one of the suspects in the investigation into irregularities in the awarding of million-dollar subsidies from this fund, described as the “key witness” in the case who is “slandering the gangsters”. Zbigniew Ziobro and his support from Sovereign Poland managed the Ministry of Justice and the Justice Fund itself for years.

The case was commented on “Kropka nad i” on TVN24 by MP Marta Wcisło, candidate of the Civic Coalition to the European Parliament and Anna Maria Żukowska, Chairwoman of the Left Parliamentary Club, member of the National Council of the Judiciary, who is also a candidate for the European Parliament.

Wcisło, referring to the representatives' reaction PIS and Sovereign Poland for subsequent recorded tapes, she said that this was “burying one's head in the sand”. – But they won't bury their heads in the sand – she noted.

– The Justice Fund, which was supposed to help victims of violence, helped win electionsrun campaigns, pump money into their own people, surveil the opposition – I'm thinking about Pegasus – and so on – said the MP.

– In the Ministry of Justice (politicians – ed.) organized a political group with criminal features, on a huge scale that has never existed in Poland before. They used public money to run campaigns, gave it to their own people, eavesdropped, and so on. A scandal that has never happened before in Poland, which really must be settled – added the representative of the Civic Coalition.

Żukowska: it was not the party's private money

Żukowska said that “Law and Justice and Sovereign Poland have the biggest problem with the fact that this came to light.” -Not that it was unethical, immoral, unfair to the victims of crimes, who did not receive this money. (…), I think that of course we need to support both the Volunteer Fire Brigades and the Rural Women's Association, but it was money from a special purpose fund – said the representative of the Left.

– First of all, it was not the party's money, it was not the MPs' private money. It was public money that was supposed to be for a specific purpose, and it was used in the election campaign to build your name, to show that you are a good man who just comes and hands out checks, she added.
