MRiT: Olga Semeniuk chairman of the Council of the Polish Space Agency

The Ministry of Development and Technology informed in a statement on Friday that Olga Semeniuk, Deputy Minister of the Ministry, was elected chairman of the Council of the Polish Space Agency. The most important tasks of the Polish Space Agency include, among others supporting the Polish space industry and the scientific community by connecting the worlds of business and science.

“Deputy Minister of Development and Technology Olga Semeniuk has been elected chairman of the Council of the Polish Space Agency” – the Ministry of Development and Technology informed on Twitter.

As the ministry informed in the announcement, the priorities for the chairwoman will be: creating a space policy, implementing tasks resulting from the Polish Space Strategy adopted by the government in 2017 and preparing the National Space Program.

Goals of the Polish Space Agency

“In accordance with the Polish Space Strategy, the concentration of the management and coordination functions is in the hands of the Ministry of Development and Technology, responsible for the overall space policy, while ensuring cooperation with other ministries and partners. The Polish Space Agency supports the M&T in these activities” – explained in the release. It was added that the most important tasks of the Polish Space Agency include, among others supporting the Polish space industry and the scientific community by connecting the world of business and science, supporting Polish industry in order to increase its competitiveness on the European market and obtaining by domestic companies contracts of international organizations, especially the European Space Agency and the European Commission. The agency is also responsible for the preparation and implementation of the National Space Program. It is also supposed to work for the development of satellite techniques in everyday life, including in agriculture, forestry, land and sea transport, environmental monitoring, crisis management or weather forecasting.
