The Sieradz district prosecutor’s office dealing with the case of the murder of a 41-year-old woman in Wieruszów (Łódź Voivodeship) announced that the 35-year-old Georgian suspected of the crime is in Georgia. – International procedures are being implemented to convict the man – said the spokeswoman of the Sieradz prosecutor’s office, Jolanta Szkilnik, who did not clearly answer the question whether the man had already been detained.
About the death of a 41-year-old woman in Wieruszów we reported on tvn24.pl shortly after the incident. The police were alerted on November 21. The body of a woman with a neck wound was found in one of the apartments. “The perpetrator fled the scene and began to hide,” the Sieradz prosecutor’s office said in a published statement.
Officers from the Crime Laboratory of the Police Headquarters in Łódź worked at the crime scene, among others. “Under the supervision of the prosecutor who arrived at the scene, they began painstaking work, during which they secured forensic evidence and performed an examination using a 3D scanner,” the prosecutor’s office said.
Investigators made a decision to charge a 35-year-old citizen with murder Georgia and requested his temporary arrest. Shortly thereafter, an Interpol red notice was issued for the wanted person. On Tuesday, the prosecutor’s office said it already knew where the suspect was. The man – according to the prosecutor’s office – is staying in Georgia.
“International procedures are being implemented to convict the man,” informed the Sieradz prosecutor’s office. However, there is no information in the published statement that the 35-year-old was arrested. Why? We asked this question to Jolanta Szkilnik, spokeswoman of the Sieradz prosecutor’s office.
– Everything we currently have to say is included in the announcement. I refer you to its content, said prosecutor Szkilnik. When we asked whether – as you might guess – informing about the location of the wanted person before his arrest could complicate the activities in this case, the prosecutor replied that the prosecutor’s office published the message to tell Poles that “they can feel safe”, and that the person wanted for murder is found in another country.
