The man murdered on Wednesday in Sweden, although he was of Polish nationality, did not have Polish citizenship, said Andrzej Szejna, deputy head of the Ministry of Diplomacy. Therefore, the case of his murder will be investigated by the Swedish prosecutor's office. – We cannot do anything more in this matter – he emphasized.

39-year-old living in Stockholm a man of Polish origin was shot on Wednesday in the Skarholmen district. He was going to the swimming pool with his 12-year-old son. He met a group of young people in the passage under the viaduct. There was an exchange of words between him and the teenagers, and then a fatal shot was fired at him.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrzej Szejna emphasized that the Polish side, including the Polish prosecutor's office, has no legal title or grounds to participate in the proceedings regarding this murder. – It was because the man was not a Polish citizen that his parents renounced their Polish citizenship in the 1980s – he explained.

In Skarholmen in southwestern Stockholm, police increased their presence. On Friday, they were assured of “intensive actions” aimed at arresting the perpetrator or perpetrators.

“We still don't know exactly why the murder happened, but it wouldn't have happened if the young people weren't armed,” said Catrine Kimerius, police chief in southern Stockholm, in a statement.
