Mysłowice. He thought that impersonating his friend would fool the police

Police officers from Mysłowice detained a 46-year-old man who pretended to be his 31-year-old friend. The man did not have any ID with him, so they went with him to the apartment, and there the “wife” recognized him as her husband's friend. The 46-year-old was wanted.

It all started with a report from Mysłowice firefighters about waste burning on the premises of one of the companies in the Wesoła district. The police did not confirm this information on site, the man was burning wooden pallets. When obtaining his ID, he pretended to be a 31-year-old resident of Mysłowice.

The man did not have any document with which he could confirm his identity, so the officers went with him to his place of residence, where his wife was to authenticate his words.

“On the spot, they found a surprised woman who categorically denied that he was her partner. As she stated, the man was her partner's friend, but she did not know his name,” we read in a statement from the Silesian police.

The man was taken to the police station, where only a fingerprint check allowed the identity of the detainee to be known. A 46-year-old resident of Jaworzyn was wanted by a Łódź court to serve a sentence for failure to pay an outstanding fine and for being arrested. The man was to serve a prison sentence for failing to comply with the driving ban.

The 46-year-old was arrested.
