Beware of text messages informing about problems with delivery of the parcel. This may be an attempt at fraud, warn cybersecurity specialists.

NASK informed that its specialized team responding to threats in the CERT Polska network is observing the return of the phishing campaign using the image of the InPost company. It’s about the so-called shipping fraud.

The goal is to steal money

“Fraudsters send mass SMS messages containing information about problems with parcel delivery. The message contains a link leading to a fake website using the image of InPost” – explain cybersecurity specialists.

Under the pretext of allegedly incorrectly addressing the parcel, the user is redirected to a website with a fake payment form through which payment card details are obtained.

“The perpetrators’ goal is to steal money from the victim’s bank account using payment card details,” NASK warns.

Another scam

This is another warning against scammers that has appeared recently. We recently reported that fraudsters are impersonating Poczta Polska. The CERT Poczta Polska team reported that cybercriminals were spreading messages on social media about the alleged sale of undeliverable parcels.

It was warned that “Poczta Polska does not carry out such actions, the advertisements lead to websites phishing for financial and personal data.”
