Fraudsters pretend to be the Lottery of the National Vaccination Program – warns CERT Polska in a statement. Criminals send text messages suggesting winning. They also encourage you to follow the link they sent to help you take control of your bank account.
“Attention! We warn against a scam in which criminals pretend to be the Lottery of the National Vaccination Program” – we read in the CERT Polska announcement.
The CERT team informs that “the fraudsters send SMSs to random telephone numbers, the content of which suggests winning 1000 zlotys and the necessity to enter the link to confirm the win”.
“In fact, it is a fake payment panel that pretends to be PayU. Entering electronic banking data in this panel will make it possible to take over the bank account” – CERT alerts.
Cybersecurity experts encourage information on the vaccine lottery to be found on the official government website.
This is another warning against scammers that has appeared recently.
Last week CERT Polska warned before SMSs with information about the appointment of the next vaccination date. Fraudsters encourage you to click on a link, which may give them access to, among others, electronic banking or social networking sites.
CERT Polska was established to respond to incidents that violate security on the Internet. The team operates within the structures of the National Research Institute – Scientific and Academic Computer Network (NASK).
